Fines

PASSENGERS CAN USE BUSES ONLY IF PROVIDED WITH REGULAR TICKETS OR TRAVELCARDS. Drivers and ATC Esercizio inspectors are entitled to check tickets and not allow someone on the bus if their ticket is not valid.

ATC ESERCIZIO INSPECTORS ARE OFFICIALS: PASSENGERS MUST PROVIDE THEM WITH THEIR CORRECT PERSONAL DETAILS ( ART. 651 C.P.).. Inspectors can ask for information and inspect items and places other than private homes, take description, photos and other actions they deem necessary for the correct identification of the offender. Law 689/81.

Travelling by bus with no proper or irregular ticket involves the application of fines which are regulated by the Regional Law number 36 issued on 06/11/2012 modified by the Regional Law number 19 issued on 09/08/2016.

For the following violations:

  • No ticket;
  • Ticket not validated;
  • Ticket validated upon arrival of inspecting personnel;
  • Ticket validated more times than allowed;
  • Ticket not adequate to the chosen distance or adequate for a route other than the one you are travelling on.
    It applies: A MINIMUM FINE OF € 35,00 if paid immediately to the controller on the bus. Only in case the person is under the age of 18 or mentally impaired, the parents or caretakers will be able to pay € 35,00 within a day after the reception of the written notification ( Sundays and Bank Holidays are not to be counted for). This is possible only in case it is impossible to hand the fine directly to the parents / caretakers on the day it was given.

€ 60,00 (PLUS THE PAYMENT OF THE TICKET REQUESTED FOR THE ROUTE YOU ARE TRAVELLING ON) if paid within 5 days.

or a reduced fine of € 110,00 (PLUS THE PAYMENT OF THE TICKET REQUESTED FOR THE ROUTE YOU ARE TRAVELLING ON) if paid within 60 days from the fine.

For payments after 60 days the fine is € 280,00 (PLUS THE PAYMENT OF THE TICKET REQUESTED FOR THE ROUTE YOU ARE TRAVELLING ON).

For the following violations:

Counterfeit ticket/altered monthly travelcard (e.g. cut – incomplete – corrected etc.)
It applies A MINIMUM FINE OF € 140,00 (PLUS THE PAYMENT OF THE TICKET REQUESTED FOR THE ROUTE YOU ARE TRAVELLING ON) if paid within 5 days from the fine.

or a reduced fine of € 180,00 (PLUS THE PAYMENT OF THE TICKET REQUESTED FOR THE ROUTE YOU ARE TRAVELLING ON)if paid within 60 days from the fine.

For payments beyond 60 days the fine is € 490,00 (PLUS THE PAYMENT OF THE TICKET REQUESTED FOR THE ROUTE YOU ARE TRAVELLING ON).

If you forget you monthly travelcard you will be fined and will have to pay TWICE THE TICKET REQUESTED FOR THE ROUTE YOU ARE TRAVELLING ON by presenting your valid travelcard within 5 days in one of our offices.
